Neponset Day is our annual FREE, family-friendly public celebration along the River and the Greenway Trail.
Join us to celebrate our diverse communities and explore the river’s beautiful natural habitats and wildlife.
Activities include:
- free canoeing and kayaking
- a spray deck – bring a bathing suit & towels!
- environmental & science exhibits
- food trucks & ice cream
- kid’s games & activities
- music
We encourage you to bring a blanket and a picnic and spend the day!

Inflatable kayaks are lightweight, portable, and affordable but less durable and have a lower top speed. Hardshell kayaks are durable, fast, and stable, but heavier and more expensive. Inflatable kayaks are ideal for recreational paddling and storage convenience, whereas hardshell kayaks suit serious kayakers, prioritizing performance and durability.
